Make A Pilgrimage To Masada Israel

The name Masada Israel is an international icon of heroism, perseverance, and faith for 2000 years. It has been a destination place for those who seek to stand where Jewish zealots resisted the Romans for 73 years. When the soldiers finally were able to breach the fortress walls, the zealots had committed mass suicide rather than fall into the hands of the Romans. The fortress was built in 30BCE by King Herod. Herod built his northern palace on three rock terraces. To this day, the palace remains the most impressive structure in Masada.

Today, there are two ways to access the high fortress. There is a walking "Winding Snake" path or a cable car ride that begins at the tourist center. It is recommended to walk the path at sunrise where you have incredible views of the Moab mountain range and the Dead Sea.

Planning a Bar/Bat Mitzvah in Masada Israel will be lifetime memorable event for all who attend. The Aaliyah to the Torah ceremony can be held in the 2000-year-old synagogue which is one of the oldest in the world. During the winter months, it can be held anytime of the year, but if planned in the summer, it should be held around sunrise or sunset due to the heat.

If you are walking the snake path, it opens an hour before sunrise and is open on Saturdays (Shabbat). The path is closed during extreme weather.

The park and museum hours are open:
